Moscow Kremlin The ceremonial changing of the guard 2016

I'm Russian and live in Texas now. I love Russia and love USA. But I'm so sad when people don't understand each other. The reason is TV and politics. My children live in Russia. I visit them every summer.  Let's go with me! I'll show you Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl/ Let me know!

The changing of the guard is an incredibly beautiful and spectacular ceremony that has been fixed in the Russian military charters and articles since the reign of Peter the Great, although similar ceremonies were conducted during the reign of Grand Duke Ivan the III. The recreation of the details of the ceremony required a huge amount of work on the part of military historians. The first parade changing of the guard in the Moscow Kremlin in the modern era, after a break of almost 80 years, took place on April the 16th, 2005.

Moscow Russia. Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

It is Summer 2016. I'm walking around Moscow with my son and my grandson close to  Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (Russian: Храм Христа Спасителя, Khram Khrista Spasitelya) is a cathedral in Moscow, Russia, on the northern bank of the Moskva River, a few blocks southwest of the Kremlin. With an overall height of 103 metres (338 ft), it is the tallest Orthodox Christian church in the world

The current church is the second to stand on this site. The original church, built during the 19th century, took more than 40 years to build. It was destroyed in 1931 on the order of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. The demolition was supposed to make way for a colossal Palace of the Soviets to house the country's legislature, the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

Construction started in 1937 but was halted in 1941 when Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union during World War II. Its steel frame was disassembled the following year, and the Palace was never built.
Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the current church was rebuilt on the site during 1995–2000.

The original church was the scene of the 1882 world premiere of the 1812 Overture composed by Tchaikovsky, which became internationally famous.
